The Gear Motions network, consisting of Nixon Gear, and Oliver Gear, manufacture all types of gears, cut or precision ground. Products include precision spur, helical,bevel and worm gears, as well as multiple types of belt sprockets, timing pulleys and splines.

Gear Grinding - Continuous improvement at Gear Motions. Introducing the latest in threaded wheel gear grinding our new Reishauer RZ400 sets a new grinding productivity benchmark. In 2001 we introduced the Höfler Helix 700 for large ground gears.

Spur Gears - Production of numerous materials, ranging in sizes from .25" to 72" inches. Large volumes at Nixon Gear, and larger low quantity spur gears at Oliver. Grinding metric spur gears? No problem!

Precision Gears - 30 years of precision gear grinding experience and one of the most modern fleets of precision gear grinding equipment in the country; the Gear Motions network possesses the engineering and facility resource necessary to make your project a success.

Helical Gears - The Gear Motions' network manufactures helical gears ranging in size from fractions of inches to 72 inches in any volume. Precision spurs and helicals to a AGMA Quality15. Custom metric or diametral gears are available.

Other types of gears - Cutting of bevel and worm gears; sprockets and splines (roller, ladder, silent) are also available through the Gear Motions network.

Among the industrial gear grinding processes, continuous generating grinding allows the highest material removal rates due to its kinematics. The process capabilities can be further increased by using CBN as a more efficient abrasive material. The research work described in this paper proves the high potential of vitreous bonded CBN grinding worms. Compared to corundum worms, the CBN tools offer significantly better behavior with regard to process stability, gear quality and residual stress on the machined gear tooth flanks. The results also show that a well adapted dressing technology is not only an important prerequisite for the efficient application of CBN worms but it also offers excellent and further possibilities to increase the grinding process performance. Dressable CBN grinding worms have not yet been introduced to industrial gear grinding processes. The paper gives an insight into the preparation and application of these innovative tools not only for academia but also for industry.
